Was Foul Play Involved In Iran President's Death Via Helicopter Crash?

(Chaz Anon) In a world teetering on the edge, where chaos is the order of the day, the news out of Azerbaijan is Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi is dead after his helicopter crashed.

Traveling with Raisi were key figures in Iran's power structure, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, the governor of East Azerbaijan province, and several other high-ranking officials and bodyguards.

The helicopter was forced to make a “hard landing” and went missing in a mountainous area close to the Iranian-Azerbaijani border.

The area was at the time shrouded in fog, which hampered rescue efforts.

Minutes after the Red Crescent Society announced its team had reached the site of the crash, state TV reported that there were “no signs of life” and an official said the helicopter had been “completely burned”.

The state-run Mehr news agency then announced that the president and foreign minister had been “martyred”.

This incident doesn't just shake the political landscape; it throws it into a blender set to 'puree'.

The million-dollar question on everyone's mind: accident or assassination?

First off, let's play the classic game of Cui Bono—who benefits?

The first name that pops in my head is Israel.

Hamas affiliated Al Qassam journalists are claiming the helicopter's pilot was a Mossad spy named "Eli Copter". Sounds like a bad spy novel, so let's not jump to conclusions on that one just yet.

But give Mossad their due: their tentacles reach far and wide. From allegedly compromising U.S. leaders with island escapades to possibly orchestrating crashes in the Iranian hinterlands, their reputation precedes them.

Yet, we can't ignore the simpler explanation: perhaps it was just an accident, lost in the literal and metaphorical fog of war.
