CNN Gaslights America, Claims Vaccine Mandates Totally Normal Part of American Life for Decades

(Steve Straub) CNN continues to try and gaslight America, this time the topic is vaccine mandates.

CNN political analyst and anchor John Avlon made the absurd claim that vaccine mandates have been a totally normal part of the American landscape for years.

“Look, there’s no right to get other people sick,” Avlon said. “Just like the right to swing your fist ends at someone else’s nose.

“While there is a place for legitimate health or religious exemptions, there is no right to go on tour during a pandemic if you are not vaccinated or tested. This isn’t a revolutionary new concept.”

The gaslighting then begins in earnest “This has been settled for over 100 years. Justice Amy Coney Barrett denies request to block Indiana’s mandate. This can’t be said enough. Vaccine mandates have been a totally normal part of American life for decades.”

“Only in our current fever dream does partisan politics twist our ability to see this.”

Avlon is correct that vaccinations have been mandatory in public schools and places like the military for a very long time.

Yet those mandates were never forced at the federal level, and most large employers did not have vaccine requirements for their workers.

It was also possible to opt out of the public school vaccine mandates via religious exemptions or through private schooling, homeschooling etc and joining the military has been a voluntary act for decades.

Having the federal government force people to be vaccinated against their will is a slippery slope. Why stop at the covid vaccine? Why not mandate an hour of exercise or a certain BMI to get access to health care?

Once the government has the power to force you to take a vaccine, they can force you to do almost anything.

If you choose not to watch the video read this transcript, it is very enlightening as to the dictatorial and anti-freedom impulses of those on the left:

“The book “Nudge” claims the best way to encourage beneficial behavior is to incentivize it. It seems we have hit the limit on nudge, at least when it comes to pandemics that have become politicized. Months after vaccines became widely available in America, after vaccine lottery payments and promises of free beer, there was still roughly a third of eligible Americans refusing to get vaccinated.

And as the delta variant spread like wildfire, it was the states with the lowest vaccination rates like Alabama, Wyoming, Iowa, Mississippi that were hardest hit. Then in late August, the Pfizer vaccine got full authorization from the FDA which opened the door to mandates, weekly tests soon directed by President Biden to businesses with 100 or more employees.

Seven weeks later, the results are in. Mandates work. And we’ve got the data to prove it. Remember how one-third of eligible U.S. military service members opted not to get the vaccine after it first became available to them? Well now 96.7% of active duty military have received at least one dose according to the Pentagon.

In New York City, vaccine rates among local government workers have spiked since city hall required workers to get vaccinated or face weekly testing. Overall, we have seen vaccination rates increase by 20 percentage points to well over 90% in many big businesses like United Airlines and Tyson Foods, to name just two.

Even the parent company of Fox News has hit 90% by either requiring vaccination or daily testing. Now, this isn’t that surprising really. It’s self-interest with a deadline.

Bare with me here. Remember that weird news weeks ago about Nicki Minaj’s cousin’s friend’s testicles? A lot of countries won’t let people work without the vaccine. I’m sure I’ll be vaccinated as well because I have to go on tour. Totally relatable, right? Admitting she would probably get vaccinated to go on tour because she’d have to.

Fear and doubt tend to fade away when they face a forcing factor like vaccine requirements.

Look, there’s no right to get other people sick. Just like the right to swing your fist ends at someone else’s nose.

While there is a place for legitimate health or religious exemptions, there is no right to go on tour during a pandemic if you are not vaccinated or tested. This isn’t a revolutionary new concept.

This has been settled for over 100 years. Justice Amy Coney Barrett denies request to block Indiana’s mandate. This can’t be said enough. Vaccine mandates have been a totally normal part of American life for decades.

Only in our current fever dream does partisan politics twist our ability to see this.

As a recent epic letter to the editor in the “New York Times” stated, I have to confess being a one-time anti-vaxer. I was adamantly oppose to the vaccines against measles, mumps, diphtheria, tetanus and polio that I was mandated by the state to particular. But I later realized that it was actually a good thing. Kindergarten changes a person. And that’s your reality check.”
