5G Towers Burning: YouTube Restricts Videos Correlating it to Coronavirus
(Chaz Anon) YouTube and other social media platforms are censoring content that implies a correlation between 5G and the coronavirus pandemic. They have taken these steps to limit the spread of this information because of a string of attacks that occurred on cellphone towers, primarily in the United Kingdom. At least five of these 5G towers were set on fire by vandals/rebels according to statements by mobile operators on Monday.

In a joint statement, BT Group’s (BTGOF) EE, Telefonica’s (TEF) O2, Vodafone (VOD) and Three, owned by CK Hutchison Holdings (CKHUY), claims 5G is not in any way connected to the coronavirus pandemic have no basis in fact, a statement echoed by mainstream “experts” and multiple government agencies from around the world.
“Not only are these claims baseless, they are harmful for the people and businesses that rely on the continuity of our services. They have also led to the abuse of our engineers and, in some cases, prevented essential network maintenance taking place,” the mobile network industry mouth piece said in a statement.
Censorship?
Most of the popular social media platforms have taken steps to censor the spread of alternative information surrounding coronavirus, banning content that references treatments that include boosting ones own immune system using liposomal vitamin A, C, D and Zinc among other natural treatments.
YouTube, which is owned by Google (which is owned by Alphabet Inc.) calls such videos “borderline content” which means they are not in direct violation of its policies. But the videos have been demonetized, certainly losing advertising revenue and likely removed from search results. The company said it is also reducing recommendations of such content in its algorithm.
A spokesperson from Twitter said they are using algorithms to help them take down false information.
“We will continue to take action on accounts that violate our rules, including content in relation to unverifiable claims which incite social unrest, widespread panic or large-scale disorder,” the spokesperson said. “If people see anything suspicious on our service, please report it to us.”
Facebook is using warnings that say the content has been deemed false by fact checkers. But users can still view the videos, some of which have tens of thousands of views, and comment if they wish.
In a statement, a Facebook spokesperson said the company is taking “aggressive” measures to combat misinformation surrounding the virus, and is “starting to remove false claims which link Covid-19 to 5G technology” and which encourage attacks on cellular towers.
In the wake of the arson attacks, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s spokesperson on Monday called on social media networks to do more to remove such false information.
“By destroying these masts people are actually putting lives at risk because they are masts used by the emergency services,” the spokesperson told reporters.
Is 5G Dangerous?
5G allows greater and faster data processing, and is seen as an integral component of new interconnected technologies such as automated vehicles, smart appliances and surveillance systems.
Various independent researchers around the web have highlighted the coronavirus-5G link despite the fact that Google, Facebook and Twitter are doing its best to hide and scrub all search results showing the connection.
Most of the researchers highlight that Wuhan was one of the test cities chosen for China 5G rollout; 5G went live there on October 31st, 2019, almost exactly 2 months before the coronavirus outbreak began.
Many local governments have taken steps to ban 5G to minimize the effect of the technology on organic life in their area, while most state and large governments have yet to allow for any discussion of the possible negative side-effects this technology my very well display.
