Suspected Austin Bomber Commits Suicide
24 year old Mark Anthony Condit, the suspected Austin Bomber, died near his home on Tuesday, allegedly committing suicide with his 6th bomb. He blew himself up in his car as law enforcement closed in on his location.
The suspected bomber used the alias “Kelly Killmore” while FedEx-ing two explosives-filled packages Sunday, law enforcement sources tell ABC News. He was caught on surveillance camera shipping the boxes from a store in the suburb of Sunset Valley. It is believed he was wearing a blonde wig underneath a blue cap.
One of the packages detonated at a FedEx distribution center near San Antonio on Tuesday — leaving one worker with minor injuries and another bomb recovered intact at a separate shipping center in Austin. Authorities identified the suspect in the last 24 hours based on this information.
According to State Troopers the Austin bomber lived in Pflugerville, about 20 miles outside Austin, with two roommates. It is not yet reported if they are also suspect. But officials say that although Conditt is believed to have acted alone, they urged residents to be careful.
